Annual Parish Meeting

The Annual Parish Meeting is an opportunity for all village organisations to make presentations and report on activities during the year, and for villagers to discuss issues as they wish.

The requirement to hold an Annual Parish meeting was established in the Local Government Act 1972, which dictates that a parish must assemble annually on some day between March 1st and June 1st, after 6 pm and that local residents may speak on any matter of local interest.

The Annual Parish Meeting is not a meeting of the Parish Council, however the Parish Council is charged with the task of organising the meeting and the Chairman of the Parish Council must preside over the meeting if he/she is present.
